產品多角化為企業追求成長目標的途徑之一,它可使企業提升企業競爭力和創造新的營運績效。本研究主要以資源基礎觀點探討企業擁有的內部資源在進行產品多角化是否有相關性及其核心能力的關係,以及產品多角化是否會影響企業成長。本研究採用單一個案研究法,以台灣一上市W鋼鐵公司為研究對象,探討該公司在2009年至2013年如何透過內部資源來發展產品多角化,並透過產品多角化以達到企業成長。本研究提出以下結果:1.W公司擁有的核心能力為組織學習及創新研發能力帶動產品多角化;2.企業內部資源高度相關性有利產品多角化時資源的共享;3.產品多角化對企業成長有正向影響。
Product diversification is a way for firms to achieve growth. This study applies the resource-based view to investigate how a firm utilizes its internal resources to diversify product portfolio by leveraging the competences to pursue firm growth.. This study chooses W company in Taiwan steel industry for the period of 2009-2013 as a case to explore the above main argument. Based on the empirical results, this study proposes the following findings: 1. W company possesses the capabilities of organizational learning and R&D as their core competencies, which leads to product diversification. 2. With respect to the internal resource sharing, the leveraging of core competences is beneficial to the creation of product diversification. 3. Product diversification can stimulate firm growth.
