隨著網路科技的進步,地圖已經由紙本地圖演化至電子地圖,而電子地圖已從為2D類型進化至3D類型之介面。本研究將藉由網頁版之Google 地圖 (Maps) & Google 地球 (3D地球),評估2D與3D地圖之使用性。實驗因子分別為:地圖類型、相片功能、路況功能、性別,地圖類型包含三個水準:Google之電子地圖(2D, Google Maps)、混合地圖(2D, Google Maps加衛星模式),以及3D地球(3D, Google Earth)。相片功能之水準包含:有、無,路況功能水準包含:有、無,性別為男性與女性。實驗採用 之單一重複要因實驗(Factorial Experiments with single replicate),實驗人數共24人(男、女性各12人)。實驗任務分為國內與國外,且皆有三類型任務包含:定位、方位判斷以及路線規劃,以完成任務之反應總時間進行績效評估。實驗前先請受試者填寫聖塔巴巴拉方向感問卷(Santa Barbara Sense of Direction, SBSOD)收集受試者環境空間能力之主觀評比分數,實驗後則請受試者填寫使用性評估問卷。
實驗結果顯示:(1) 整體任務之平均搜尋時間具有顯著差異之三因子交互作用為地圖類型、路況與性別,男性在使用加入路況之3D地球平均搜尋時間最短、女性則以使用加入路況之混合地圖平均搜尋時間最短;(2) 具有顯著差異的二因子交互作用:地圖類型以及路況功能,顯示3D地球在不增加路況功能之男性與其他因子組合有顯著差異;地圖類型與性別則為女性使用3D地球時與其他因子有顯著差異。(3) 本次實驗採用之Google公司地圖其使用上的效率性,男性同意程度大於女性,男性較為喜歡Google設計之地圖。(4)在方向感問卷中,男性對於陌生地點尋路能力以及地圖的理解能力同意程度皆大於女性。

Now, the pace of life is increasing with technological advancements. The study is aim to evaluate the usability of Google system’ Maps. Paper with Maps are going to be replaced by Electronic map (E-Map). The study has 4 factors. First, three kinds of maps: E-map (2D views), Mix maps (Satellite maps with Road. 2D views), Earth (3D views). Second, Picture on maps, with or without, Third is Traffic on maps, with or without. Fourth Genders. Design decides to adopt 4 Factorial Experiment with Single Replicate. The number of volunteers is 24, each male and female have 12. We recorded the spend time in seconds, when participants finished each task. Two kinds of tasks are included, domestic trip and foreign trip, to explore what is different between Domestic and foreign. Using ANOVA, predict the regression model to analysis the different of levels and best predict. After the experiment, we collect Santa Barbara Sense of Direction scale and Usability scale. In the study, we investigated Google Maps (E-map and Mix map) and Earth. Result shows that (1) The mean of total time has three factors interaction with Maps, Road and gender, male is good in Google Earth and significant with others. (2) Two factors interaction are significant with Maps and Road (3) On factorial analysis, usability principles had a factor said male more like Google’s maps than female. (4) In Santa Barbara Sense of Direction (SBSOD), men had more confidence to find to unfamiliar routes.
