隨著社會要求商業應該負責它所造成的破壞，企業社會責任的想法引起了學家以及商業者的注意。企業社會責任的想法包括三個主要的部分：經濟，環境，社會。這份研究特別強調最後一個部分。了解企業社會責任政策效力的時候公民的態度能夠當最好的指針。

本研究的目的為仔細了解俄羅斯石油與天然氣採掘公司在俄羅斯具有最豐富的自然資源的亞馬爾.涅涅茨自治區實行企業社會責任政策的方面。使用著持份者的方法，本研究提供關於政策的真實內容以及對公司的員工和其他公民的影響。分析著持份者的態度，本研究幫助了解俄羅斯石油與天然氣採掘公司實行的企業社會責任政策的最尖銳的問題。
