社會大眾對於精神疾病之負向態度常為精神病患回歸社區所面臨的阻礙，藉由早期教育及早期接觸可影響此態度，因此，青少年對於精神疾病態度之現況是值得探究的研究議題。本研究旨在暸解中部地區高中生之精神健康知識及其對於精神疾病與治療之態度，採橫斷式調查性研究，以分層隨機抽樣方式抽取中部地區500位高中職生，研究工具包含四部份，第一部分為「基本資料」，第二部分為「精神病患態度量表」，包含正向態度、負向態度、復原及預後，第三部份之「社會距離」包含憂鬱症案例、精神分裂症案例，及第四部份「精神健康知識」包含憂鬱症疾病歸因及處置模式、精神分裂症疾病歸因及處置、疾病辨識，並使用SPSS 17.0進行描述性統計分析及推論性統計分析。
研究結果發現:一、高中生對精神疾病病患的態度採正向認同其工作能力，但對精神疾病病患的接受度則較低。二、高中生對憂鬱症及藥酒癮之健康知識顯著高於對精神分裂症及躁鬱症之精神健康知識。三、「對於精神疾病之復元及預後的態度」、「學制」、「性別」、「負向態度」和「正向態度」五變項為預測對精神疾病病患接受度(即社會距離)之預測因子。
本研究結果可作為未來我國推動早期精神健康教育及相關政策之參考，以進一步改善精神疾病病患之烙印處境，減低其回歸社區之阻礙。

Negative attitude toward mental illness is one of the barriers for Taiwanese mentally ill persons reentering to community. This study aim to examine the mental health literacy and attitude about mental illness and its treatment of mental illness among high school studentsin the middle of Taiwan. Cross-sectional survey study with the stratified random sampling method was conducted to recruit around 500 high school students in Taichung city. Four kinds of measurements include basic demographic and houshold information, scale for general public attitudes about mental illness and its treatment, scale of social distance,and scale of mental health literacy, then used the SPSS 17.0 for descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis.
The results showed that: 1.High school students’ attitude toword mental illness was positive and recognition of their ability to work, but the social distant still show low. 2. High school students on Menatl illness literacy of alcoholism and depression was significantly higher than schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. 3. "for the recovery of mental illness, " "academic," "Gender," "negative attitude," and "positive attitude" could predict the social distant of mental illness.The results of this study will inform the national mental health education and related policy to improve the public mental health literacy, reduce the stigmatization on the mental illness, and provide a friendly community for reentering the mental illness
