A Study on the Application of an Adaptable Partition System on Multifunction Tourist Center
Abstract
After theoretical concept of open building is proposed, relevant researches have been conducted in many countries successively and a series of principal measures are provided. From previous related studies we can see that considerable research achievements have been made in this respect. However, for practical application of these outcomes into building construction, many issues on practical technique have not been solved yet. Interior partition system is an extremely important part for infill of open system building. Flexible degree of partition system almost determines most of capability of regulating and changing interior space. With regard to usual customs of architectural design and interior design in Taiwan, most interior partition are fixed, which leads to insufficient variability of interior system. Furthermore, in case of any change in configuration, many construction wastes are produced. The issues on open system building focus on house relevant researches and improvement strategies. Actually, compared with dwelling house, multifunction tourist center has a more frequent demand on configuration change. In Taiwan, there is no research on open-system construction of multifunction tourist center. Therefore, the present study attempts to investigate this issue, and aims at establishing an adaptable partition system. All the materials used are products available on the market. The components can not only realize simple partition system disassembly and assembly operations in space of specific multifunction tourist center, but also achieve a “resource sharing” goal through transmitting most disassembled components to other multifunction tourist centers for use. In developing this study on partition system, establish a set of available for evaluation in two stages design process. First, cardboard models are used to develop three preliminary scheme options which have characteristics of both stack-type and double-board-type adaptable partition systems. Through evaluation and analysis, an optimal scheme is selected. For the selected scheme, subsequent complete 3D computer graphics simulation is performed and local full-scale model is made and tested. Assessment tests the system expanded, in structural stability, ease of construction and structural extend aspects in good performances. Finally, through 3 times each year under situational conditions followed by changes in frequency , 20 years life cycle simulation and evaluation , results show adaptable partition system of this study and development system of construction waste 6.81% of 1/2B brick partition, and 15.03% of fixed light partition; carbon emissions of adaptable partition system is 1.53% of 1/2B brick wall and 5.45% of fixed light partition. And this result shows adaptable partition system developed by this study is of great benefit to protection of global environment, to further review the improved and available for future reference .
