國際化與全球化是近年來企業經營發展的主要趨勢,跨國界的營運不僅讓多國籍企業的數量日益增加,隨著海外事業版圖的擴大,分支機構的數量、投資與雇用員工也將增加,所以總部與分支機構間,以及各分支機構間的內部溝通、協調議題將日益重要,同時影響人力資源實務工作者發展相對應語言管理政策的規劃。
因此,本研究以個案研究方式,採專家深度訪談,探討在台灣的多國籍企業下列三項議題:
1.多國籍企業總部與分支機構間的溝通議題及相關語言政策。
2.多國籍企業總部及各分支機構,對駐地國的社群(包括顧客、政府、供應商及其他重要利害關係人)的溝通議題及相關語言政策。
3.多國籍企業各分支機構間的溝通及語言政策相關議題。
最後,針對個案公司,就國際化程度、企業整體溝通概況、外派人員管理、溝通障礙議題及克服方法、現行語言政策及未來作法等六個面向分別討論。透過比較彼此間的相同或差異,歸納出本研究的結論,以及對後續學術研究或實務上的建議。
Internationalization and globalization are the major trends in business development in recent years. Cross-border operation results in the boosting number of multinational corporations (MNC), while the number of branches, investments and employees will also increase with the expansion of overseas business. Therefore, the internal communication and coordination issues between headquarters and subsidiaries as well as the various subsidiaries are getting important. It also affects language management policy development for human resources practitioners.
By way of qualitative approach of in-depth interview, this research portrayed three issues as follows for multinational corporations in Taiwan.
1.Communication issues and related language policies between MNC headquarters and subsidiaries.
2.Communication issues and related language policies between MNC headquarters – subsidiaries and local communities (including customers, government, suppliers and other key stakeholders).
3.Communication issues and related language policies among MNC subsidiaries
Lastly, the research conducted discussions from six dimensions of case studies, including the level of internationalization, overall cooporation communication, expatriates management, issues of communication barriers and solutions, the existing language policies and future practice. The research hopes to capture conclusions through cases comparison and provides suggestions for future research or practical insights to improve the managerial capability in managing languages.
