The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship among children’s attachment style, emotion regulation and peer interactions. More specifically, our goal is to disentangle the association between attachment style and peer interactions by taking into account the mediating effects of emotion regulation. In a sample of 181 (93 boys and 88 girls) main caregivers and teachers of children whose age range is between three and six years old. Participants will be assessed by the following measures: Kinship Center Attachment Questionnaire, Children’s Behavior Questionnaire and Children’s Behavior Scale. Effortful control play a full mediating role(only main caregivers) in the association between insecure attachment and prosocial behavior and impulsivity play a partial mediating role in the association between insecure attachment and aggression behavior(only the main caregiver). The findings highlight the need for improving preschoolers’ emotion regulation in the relations between insecure attachment and peer interactions.
