本論文係為

（ㄧ）筆者于精神層面對於水空間與形式的探求

（二）檢討台北市于水岸空間的規劃

最終融合二者，重新定義城市中帶有精神性功能的水岸空間，做為“城市、人、水理想關係”之展現。

以凝視大片水域而激發內心悸動為出發，將之延伸、發展成文字與圖像，同時搜集、分析在各個領域中“水”的樣貌與其在物質v.s.精神性量表上的定位。
從前述過程至台北水研究，可得出自六零年代起的大規模現代化與土地開發之下，我們對於水態度的轉變，從一體分割為二，從物質精神並重變成只專注于水的物質性功能；缺乏想像的基礎建設，將水與我們的身、心的距離都拉得無比遙遠。
本論文試圖用“循環”的一個相對全面性的角度來檢視人、水在城市甚至在整體自然界中的運作，將它們之中各取出一段重新編組、結合，作為連結人與水的介質，並且希望藉由本論文提供一個重新看待 “城市、人、水理想關係”的角度。

This thesis is about:

1. Discussion of water space and its form which relate to spiritual, inner part of myself.

2. Research and argue about planning of water space in Taipei

I tried to establish an ideal relation between people, water in the city. In order to do it, two figures above are combined to redefine spiritual water space at waterfront.

Texts and drawings were made from the inspiration of vibration of gazing the water. In the mean time, the research on water in different aspects were made, analyzed and categorize into two groups, spirituality versus materiality.

The research on water in Taipei were also done. I found that the massive development in city were thriving in 60s in Taipei, our thoughts towards water were slowly altering from living with it to drifting apart from it. We only focus on the material function of water and neglect spiritual part of it. The infrastructure which lacks of imagination makes water
remote from us physically and mentally.

This thesis attempt to use a key concept: cycle. It is considered a better and more thorough perspective to examine how do people, water in city function in the view of the universe. In the end, I took part of water cycle and part of people cycle and combine them as the medium which reconnect people and water in the city. Hopefully, the process and the result of this thesis will provide readers a whole new point of view to see people, water in the city.
