本研究以台灣《壹週刊》封面故事中的公眾人物外遇新聞作為研究文本,參考閱聽人接收分析之研究取徑,先對公眾人物外遇新聞進行文本分析,再對女性閱聽人進行深入訪談。剖析外遇新聞敘事,進而審視閱聽人對於外遇新聞的解讀,以及對自身生活經驗與文本的反身性思考。
研究結果發現,外遇新聞的確具備一貫的敘事模式。以碩大的圖片與聳動的標題吸引閱聽人閱讀,透過公私領域場景的對比,描述主角所強調的特質,以及配合嘲諷、幽默口吻,關注細節、引導式的說故事方法。後續深度訪談女性閱聽人也發現,《壹週刊》報導的敘事方式促使女性閱聽人傾向批判外遇新聞,反省身為閱聽人的自己,卻又在與日常生活連結時,展現了兼具參考型與批判型的解讀模式。
女性閱聽人透過不斷轉換自身的身份定位,聚集多重的反身性解讀於一身,以不同的身份決定批判或參考。閱聽人的反身性解讀,包含對於外遇新聞進行串連過去媒介經驗與感情經驗的思考,以及將自己視為被害者角色的移情作用,蘊含個人導向與社會導向的推論,並展現理性的他人指涉與感性的自我指涉,本研究發現,外遇新聞確實引起女性閱聽人強烈且豐富的反身性解讀,並選擇要以閱聽人的身份,或是以日常生活中的一位妻子、一位母親、一位女朋友的身份進行思考。在身份轉換後,雖存在必然的矛盾,卻也在理性批判與感性投射的解讀中,理解外遇新聞之於閱聽人的關係。
