郭公蟲屬於鞘翅目( Coleoptera )、郭公蟲總科( Cleroidea )包括11科、573屬、10224種昆蟲 ( Leschen, 2010) 。全世界郭公蟲 ( Clerids, Checkered Beetles ) 約300屬、3500種;台灣包含8個亞科共27屬、63種。郭公蟲系統分類發展可依循Spinola (1841, 1844)、Lacordaire (1857)、Schenkling (1903, 1910)、Gahan (1910)、Chapin (1924)、Böving & Craighead (1931)、Crowson (1955, 1964)、Winkler (1964, 1980)、Kolibać (1992, 1997, 1998, 2004)及Opitz (2009, 2010)等學者的研究,而目前主要以Opitz (2010)的分類系統為主,共可分為11亞科 (Thaneroclerinae、Tillinae、Hydnocerinae、Clerinae、Epiphloeinae、Enopliinae、Tarsosteninae、Korynetinae、Isoclerinae、Neorthopleurinae and Peloniinae)。郭公蟲科的種類主要分類特徵如下:體型常為長形或橢圓形、體表具豎毛、觸角11節、多為棍棒狀、前胸比鞘翅窄、頭部呈三角形、頭寬等於或寬於前胸、跗節5-5-5及腹部常為5節。行為上郭公蟲多為肉食性甲蟲,以其他種類昆蟲為食,在森林中為森林害蟲小蠹蟲科( Scolytidae )甲蟲的主要捕食性天敵,具有控制小蠹蟲的數量的能力,降低小蠹蟲對森林的危害。台灣目前沒有完整的郭公蟲多樣性調查,所以本實驗以雪見遊憩區為研究樣區,取3條穿越線架設馬氏網陷阱採集郭公蟲,每個月回收陷阱中的收集瓶,攜回實驗室進行標本製作、鑑定與分類工作。2015年6月至2016年6月共已發現10屬、21種郭公蟲,佔台灣已知郭公蟲的三分之一。研究結果顯示4-6月份為郭公蟲的高峰期,以Stigmatium diversipes、Omadius zebratus及Omadius tricinctus為優勢種。
Coleoptera, Cleroidea includes 11 families, 573 genera and 10,224 species (Leschen, 2010). In the world, clerids (Cleridae) includes about 300 genera and 3500 species; In taiwan contains 8 subfamilies 27 genera 63 species. Taxonomy of clerids can followed Spinola (1841, 1844), Lacordaire (1857), Schenkling (1903, 1910), Gahan (1910), Chapin (1924), Böving & Craighead (1931), Crowson (1955, 1964), Winkler (1964, 1980), Kolibać (1992, 1997, 1998, 2004) and Opitz (2009, 2010). At present mainly in Opitz (2010) classification system ; divided into 11 subfamilies (Thaneroclerinae, Tillinae, Hydnocerinae, Clerinae, Epiphloeinae, Enopliinae, Tarsosteninae, Korynetinae, Isoclerinae, Neorthopleurinae, Peloniinae). Features of clerids follow as : body elongated or oval, surface with hair, antennae 11 and mostly clavate, elytra narrower than pronotum, head was triangle, head width equal or wider than pronotum, tarsus 5-5-5 and abdomen often 5 section. Clerids is carnivorous beetles, and predator of bark beetles (Scolytidae), which can control bark beetles numbers. The Xuejian Recreation Area for the sample reacher region, taking three crossing lines and set traps to collect the clerids. Month recovery collected bottles back to the laboratory for specimen preparation , identification and classification. From June 2015 to June 2016 had been found 10 genus and 21 species for clerids, they accounted all clerias 1/3 for Taiwan. 4 to 6 month is climax of clerids, Stigmatium diversipes, Omadius zebratus and Omadius tricinctus is common species .
