This study analyzed 583 Indonesian migrant workers complaints from Indonesia Economic Trade Office to Taipei from 2014 – 2015. The method of this study is using archival research method and descriptive analysis. Cross tabulation is used in this study to compare the relationship between cause and outcome of Indonesia migrant workers problems. This study aims at discussing trends and issues of Indonesian migrant workers regarding to case study in Taiwan. This study could give benefit to Indonesia and Taiwanese Government for highlighting issues of Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan. The prevention and recommendation from this study may also give additional information to prevent and minimize the issues of Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan. In addition, this study may give additional information to other countries which have same problem for migrant worker problems.
The results of this study are The majority of Indonesia workers who became victims were family nursing (279 workers, 49.2%) and Manufacturing (225 workers, 36.8%), the majority of victims were female workers (336 workers, 57.6%), the workers who their age between 25 – 34 years old (247 workers, 42.4%) were the majority of victims and mostly the education of Indonesian workers was Junior School (341 workers, 58.5%).
Non-payment wages (194 cases, 26.3%), Job mismatch (156 cases, 21.2%) and physical, psychological and sexual abuse (152 cases, 20.6%) are the highest case of Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan. On other hand, mostly the workers encountered employment transfer (191 cases,32.8%) for the outcome, stay at the same employer (184 cases, 31.6%) and repatriation (136 cases, 23.3%) are also outcome that Indonesian workers faced.
