The aim of the essay is trying to employ the concept of “Transparency” on architectural design. Via the process of literature collection and review, case studies and analysis, design ideas, and finally practice in architectural design. The concept of transparency comes from Colin Rowe "Transparency" published in 1964. In his essay, Colin Rowe creates two definitions for the term “Transparency”: Literal & Phenomenal transparency. Followed his description as the main design concept, this essay develops three aspects of design key points such as "Space and Visual penetration”, “Flexible circulation”, and “Materials’ transparent” into three different design projects. Overall, all these discussions and findings within this essay try to discuss the possible development directions for transparency that can be reference for future designers.
