本研究探討與金融機構有關的企業社會責任之相關文獻,除彙整一般企業之社會責任內涵、範圍、國際規範及相關理論外,主要探討銀行業與金融控股公司的企業社會責任理念、實踐情形、未來展望以及衡量方法與相關實證研究。金融服務業掌控了龐大的資金,加上其獨特的產業特性以及可能對社會造成的嚴重影響,其企業社會責任的實質作為受到廣大投資者的關注,故了解與金融業有關的企業社會責任有重要意義與價值。具體而言,銀行業除了放款策略與公司治理與企業社會責任有密切關係外,從最初單純的捐款到結合公司治理和員工關係、提升資訊透明度到進一步推至更廣泛的社會參與,都是社會責任的實踐。金融業的健全經營為經濟發展與社會進步的力量,透過對內公司治理、員工的照顧,對外社會大眾的回饋、客戶關係的維護以及對環境永續的貢獻,除有利於經營績效,更能不斷提升企業品牌價值。本研究期望透過相關文獻之回顧,協助金融業檢討、改進,甚至發展創新企業社會責任的積極作為,使社會與國家朝向經濟穩定、社會和諧、大眾幸福的方向邁進。
This study aims to review the related literature about the corporate social responsibility of financial institutions. In addition to collecting the content, scope, the international norms and related theories of the social responsibility, this study primarily focuses on banks’ and financial holding companies’ corporate social responsibility philosophy, practice and prospects, as well as measuring method and empirical studies. Because financial service institutions control huge funds, coupled with its unique characteristics and possible serious impact on society, the actual actions of its corporate social responsibility is a great concern for investors. Therefore, understanding corporate social responsibility related to the financial sector is of great significance and value. Specifically, in addition to lending policy and corporate governance in banking being closely related to corporate social responsibility, from the original simple contribution to the combining of corporate and employee relationship, promotion for information transparency to further greater social participation, are all the practice of social responsibility. A sound management of the financial sector is a force for economic development and social progress. Through internal corporate governance, employee care, and external community feedback and customer relationship maintenance and their contribution to environmental sustainability, it can not only benefit operating performance but also become able to continuously enhance the brand value. This research, through literature review, hopes to help financial sector to review, improve, or even develop and innovate positive actions of corporate social responsibility, such that the society and country can make a great progress toward economic stability, social harmony, and public wellbeing.
