Every work place has been experienced the work place violence. Among all, the health related sectors are one of the highest potential groups. The study for prevention of Emergency Department Violence (EDV) toward Emergency Doctors, the Delphi method will be used and will survey with questionnaires on 6 expert emergency physicians, Director and Head of Emergency Department (ED)in Chia-Yi area at Taiwan, to get the experts opinions. This study’ aims to analyse on the prevention of violence towards Emergency Doctors and to provide a reference for further studies and to develop a control measure on EDV. Base on the results that show there are 4 main causes to effect on EDV as following
1. Structural and work environment condition factors
2. Hospital side person characters
3. Patient and family side characters
4. Organizational characters.
The usefulness of prevention factors for EDV as following
A. Train and educate ED side persons
B. Supporting professional knowledge
C. Leadership, managements and strategies of organization and its responsibilities
D. Amending laws & legislation of nation
E. Community take part in preventing EDV.
There are some not important factors that will causes EDV like presence of Taxi service, inadequate ED communication facilities, presence of alcohol shop nearby hospital, marital status, adult female, transportation patients arrangement. There is not more usefulness about the question like self-defence training.
