在本研究中,我們先使用擴束透鏡組將紅光氦氖雷射光源調整為平行光束,經由聚焦物鏡將雷射光耦合進入以紅光單模光纖加熱拉伸製成的錐形光纖探針,並對接一條平端的多模收光光纖。在收光光纖末端放置成像物鏡,將其輸出光聚焦並射入一個立方分光鏡,使其分成兩道紅光,其中一道紅光往前打入攝影機,以觀察多模收光光纖末端截面的輸出模態影像,另一道紅光則利用兩面反射鏡將其打進光束品質分析儀,來量測其光束品質M2參數,並觀察多模收光光纖末端的輸出模態影像在光束品質量測過程中的變化。
我們透過移動錐形光纖探針的橫向距離和縱向距離來找出最接近多模收光光纖的基本模態之輸出影像。另外,也試著改變紅光單模的錐形光纖探針的斜率及結構型式,來觀察其傳輸至多模收光光纖的模態影像的變化,及其光束品質的優劣。
In this research, we first use a set of beam expansion lens to adjust the light source of the red helium–neon laser into a parallel beam. The laser beam is coupled by an objective lens into a tapered fiber probe made of a red-light single-mode fiber by applying heat and extending the fiber, to which we then attach a multimode light receiving fiber with a flat end. A projection objective is placed at the end of the fiber that receives light, focusing and redirecting the output light into a cubic beam splitter, which splits the beam into two rays of red light. One of the rays enters the camera in order for us to observe the modal images that the multimode light receiving fiber produces at the end face, and the other ray of red light is reflected by two mirrors into a machine that analyzes the beam quality. The M2 values are measured and changes in the modal images are observed during measuring the quality of the beam.
By moving the tapered fiber probe around laterally and longitudinally, we are able to find the distance that most closely resembles the fundamental modal images that multimode fibers transmit. In addition, by changing the slope and the structure of the tapered fiber probe, we are able to observe the changes that happen to the modal images transmitted to the multimode light receiving fibers and the quality of the resulting beams.
