  本文主要研究主題為以性別差異與教育程度分層後,在不同戒菸時間間格的條件下,造成身體質量指數(Body Mass Index, BMI)之變化幅度的趨勢,並觀察各個變項對於BMI變化之影響力,最後以戒菸者的健康影響為目的引出政策建議。
  本研究之資料來源為2015年美國全國健康行為(Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System)調查資料,採用傾向分數配對(Propensity score matching)之分析法,透過各種變數配對實驗組以及對照組之後,控制性別、教育程度後,隨著戒菸時間對於身體質量指數的變化。
  分析結果發現,兩種不同的傾向分數配對法,以及不同戒菸時間分組下,皆能得到教育程度越高體重上升越小的結果,顯示教育程度的高低為戒菸後體重增減的議題上一項重要的區分方式,而其中又以女性體重上升變化更為明顯。
