莫斯科音樂院自十九世紀浪漫時期以來培育了許多鋼琴家兼作曲家，如拉赫曼尼諾夫（Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff, 1873-1943）、史克里亞賓（Alexander Scriabin, 1872-1915）、卡普斯汀（Nikolai Girshevich Kapustin, 1937-），此類音樂家之創作靈感來自於巴哈（Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750）、貝多芬（Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827）等作曲家所建立的傳統，以此基礎進而成功創造出獨樹一格的全新風貌。身為炫技鋼琴家的卡普斯汀，近年來其鋼琴作品逐漸受到重視；其中，創作於一九八八年結合爵士元素之鋼琴作品《二十四首前奏曲，作品五十三》（Twenty-four Preludes, Op. 53, 1988）承襲蕭邦《前奏曲，作品二十八》（Preludes, Op. 28, 1839）創作手法，為二十世紀具獨特性之代表作品。
本文將分為兩大章節論述，第一章介紹卡普斯汀生平背景與鋼琴作品之創作特色；第二章首先探討二十四首前奏曲之歷史淵源，研究主軸則為探討卡普斯汀於《二十四首前奏曲，作品五十三》，如何運用不同樂曲結構，以及動機發展、主題變奏與變型之創作技巧，將各類型爵士素材融合於作品中。

Famous Composer-pianists as Sergei Rachmaninov(1873-1943), Alexander Scriabin(1872-1915), and Nikolai Kapustin(1937- ), nourished from the Moscow Music Conservatory since Romantic period in the nineteenth century, whose compositional inspirations based on the tradition established by predecessors such as J. S. Bach (1685-1750) and Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827), have successfully created their own musical styles. As a virtuoso pianist, Kapustin’s piano works are getting well-known in recent years . Among them, the Twenty-four Preludes, Op. 53, composed in 1988 with Jazz elements, inherited directly from Chopin’s Twenty-four Preludes, Op. 28, are unique and representative in the twentieth century.
This research contains two main chapters. The first chapter introduces the educational background and piano compositional features of Kapustin. The second chapter explores the historical transitions of the Twenty-four Preludes first, and then focuses on how Kapustin employs different formal structures, as well as techniques of motivic development, thematic variation and transformation to unify various Jazz materials in the Twenty-four Preludes, Op. 53.
