In recent years, studies about entrepreneurial intention have started to focus on social entrepreneurial intention. While previous studies found that empathy, moral obligation, self-efficacy, perceived social support, and prior experience have significant impacts on social entrepreneurial intention, other studies also found the role of creativity and social capital on social entrepreneurial intention. This present study explored (a) the model proposed by Mair and Noboa (2006) and Hockerts (2017) which identify five predictors of social entrepreneurial intention; and (b) the difference in effects between Hong Kong and Taiwan university students, by using cluster sampling to collect data from two regions'' universities, with a total of 927 valid respondents. Results indicate that Taiwan''s sample have higher social entrepreneurial intention than Hong Kong''s sample. Also, the influential factors of social entrepreneurial intention differ among different regions. In conclusion, creativity, empathy, prior experience, self-efficacy and social support have positive effect on Taiwan university students’ social entrepreneurial intention, while social capital has a negative impact. On the other hand, creativity, empathy, prior experience and social support have positive impact on Hong Kong’s social entrepreneurial intention. This present study observed creativity could be the sixth possible antecedent of social entrepreneurial intention and how influential factors differ according to different societies.
