青花是我國最具民族特色的瓷器裝飾，也是陶器裝飾最早發明的方法之一，每個青花圖騰都有屬於它的意涵及象徵意義。本研究以「蝶舞．青花」圖騰的意象結合工筆人物畫作為創作研究主題，希望透過青花圖象的理解與蝴蝶象徵性的意象形塑作為現階段自我創作形式表現，並建構自我創作方法之架構。
「蝶舞」是以象徵性，表現性的創作概念，在水墨工筆人物創作研究中，注入形式與符號的特性。「蝶」是美麗的化身，是大自然界的精靈也是文人詩歌讚頌的對象。在藝術表現中有「陰性」與「律動」的特質，在符號的象徵中有著裝飾主題的意涵。筆者思考，以女性為主的工筆人物畫題材中，強化青花的符號與
圖騰作為創作風格的「語符」。同時以「蝶舞」的意象透過青花的色彩意念呈現，並結合現代仕女表現作為風格來凸顯女性置身當代社會中，無法外顯的內心情感與自我特質的抒發。
本文的繪畫創作研究論述主要分為一、緒論：包含研究動機與目的，研究的內容及方法，研究的範圍與限制。二、青花圖騰與工筆人物創作學理探討，為此研究尋找學術之立基。三、「蝶舞．青花」創作理念與實踐，將自我創作思想與實踐進行整合紀錄以作為創作方法的架構基礎。四、創作解析，依次將作品透過三個系列解析與個別論述，五、結論，以期進行完此研究後能清晰對自我創作之路提供具體幫助。

Blue-and-white has been the most ethnic characteristic of the porcelain decoration in our country and also one of the earliest ways to invent the pottery ornament, each of which possessed its implication and symbolic meaning. The study used the imagery of totems “Butterfly Dance, Blue and White”, combining gong-bi figure paintings as the topic of the creation research in hopes of performing as forms of personal creation at the present stage through the comprehension of blue-and-white patterns as well as symbolic images in the shape of the butterfly, and constructing frames of self-creation methods.

“Butterfly Dance” injected characteristics of forms and signs as symbolic and manifesting concept of creation in the research of ink wash gong-bi figures. “Butterfly” is beautiful incarnation, an elf of Nature as well as the object that literati praised with poems. It owns qualities of “feminine” and “rhythm” in artistic expressions and meanings of decorating the topic in symbolic signs. The writer thought that blue-and-white marks and totems should be intensified as “phonetic signs” of the creation style in subject matters of female-based gong-bi figure paintings. Meanwhile, ideas were represented as the images of “Butterfly Dance” via colors of blue-and-white in combination with performances of modern ladies as styles to highlight inward emotions that could not show and revelation of personal traits in the contemporary society.

The research discourse on the painting creation was mainly divided into the following parts. First, the introduction, it included motives and purposes, contents and methods used as well as ranges and restrictions of the study. Second, the theoretical discussions of blue-and-white totems and painting creations of gong-bi figures were to look for academic foundation for the research. Third, creation ideals and implementations of “Butterfly Dance, Blue and White” integrated and recorded personal creation thoughts and enactment as the basis of creative methods. Fourth, creation analysis separate works into three series in turn to analyze and discuss respectively. Last, the conclusion, specific help would be provided in expectations that the road to self-creation would be clearer after completing the research.
