When urbanization enhances the height and density of the city, more and more “urban pochés” were created. The artery replaced the avenue and the street lost its social meaning as a multipurpose space and neighborhoods no longer interacted, but became isolated, homogenous enclaves. The open space lost its original public and urban value. In order to express the ‘urban poche’ question, we should look closely at the traditional city, particularly at the principle of enclosure that gives open space its definition and connection, creating workable links between spaces in our design, we need to look back the traditional theories, spatial values and images of urban space that worked in the past and to develop a design rule based on these successful experience for today’s cities. One of the challenges to urban design nowadays is to redevelop a sense for the rules and to bring back multi public life-important ingredients in cities of the past. In doing so, we try to redesign this urban poché with rich green quality and extend its publicity. The open space is given with traditional spatial values and images, combining with idea of urban landscape. Visitors will experience various activities and delicate natural environmental arrangement.
