The objective of an Enterprise System (ES) implementation program is to manage a number of large and complex projects in a coordinated way to achieve the organization's strategic. Often, the failure is attributed to inadequate efforts to accomplish goals by individual project managers, resulting in a disconnect between the goals set forth by management and the implementation by members of the program team. In order to achieve the overall program objectives, each project team needs to share ideas and resources through coordination and cooperation. Conflict need to be resolved in a fashion that leads to the pursuit of program goals, not the independent goals lodged in individual projects. We study the effects of goal interdependence among projects conflict on integrative conflict management (ICM) (1) The results show that goal interdependence is positively associated with integrative conflict resolution, however, (2) the relationship between goal interdependence and integrative conflict resolution is negatively moderated by the level of task conflict. (3) the relationship between goal interdependence and integrative conflict resolution is negatively moderated by the level of relationship conflict.
