臺灣是科技產業的發達與網路普及化的國家，對全民使用網路科技有極大的優勢，但鮮少有研究針對老年人口使用科技軟體的經驗來探討，並深入了解他們在接觸、學習、使用的過程經驗與感受，以質性研究的方式，透過深度訪談，來理解他們的生活世界，讓他們說出自己的感覺，以深入了解他們在學習使用資通科技過程的需求與相關經驗。本研究為質性研究以台北地區社區之健康老年民眾為研究對象，以半結構式問卷採立意取樣與滾雪球方式，共8名個案接受深度訪談。資料分析採用現象學與內容分析法。
研究結果歸納出三個範疇：如魚得水無往（網）不利、打造自我的第三人生、期待又怕受傷害。研究發現，高齡者透過資通科技的使用，不僅可以保持與他們的家人和朋友聯絡，也縮短時間和空間上的距離，透過社交網絡的互動，經歷在人際關係上，如魚得水般的無網不利。此外，從擴大社交網絡提高老年人心理健康，以及從肯定自我的學習能力和增加自我價值，進而成功的打造他們的第三人生。另外，高齡者對開放網路平台的顧忌及科技的不夠友善，是最主要的困難，透過客製化、高齡友善的設計，和增加高齡者的網路適能，讓高齡者使用上更為方便簡單。希望本研究結果，可以提供一些信息，給相關的專家和技術人員參考，使高齡者透過資通科技使用，活躍在社交網絡中，並能充分享受科技帶來的便利。

With the advancement in telecommunication and internet technology, social networking platform seems became a popular way for people to interact. However, only few studies have focused on the experience of elderly using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the influence of ICT on their social networking activities. The purpose of this study is to investigate elderly experience of ICT and its relevant influences.

This research used a qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews, as well as, a semi-structure questionnaire. Healthy subjects were recruited from local community with a purposive and snowball sampling scheme. A total of 8 subjects agreed to be interviewed. Transcriptions of interviews and phenomenology content analysis were carried out.

Elderly experience with ICT can be grouped into three main types: the well-adapted type, the continual self-improvement type, and the larger type. The well-adapted have little difficulty in using ICT, and have benefitted significantly in terms of establishing social networking. The well-adapted elderly not only keep in contact with their families and friends with ICT, but also maintain relationship with less time and overcoming distance barriers. The self-improvement type were the one that saw the need to use ICT and was willing to learn how to manage the new technology. This type of elderly tried keeping up with the technology via self-learning and aimed to enhance self-efficacy, personal control, and life satisfaction. The larger type tended to feel intimidated by ICT and were reluctant to learn new technology. The lack of e-literacy and general knowledge for computer usage were common among them.
