Abstract
The art project “From the Depths of My memory” is based on reflections of my life. Visual images help me express and understand myself more profoundly. By looking back and reviewing my past, I am able to start over and to see life in better and more matured ways to face the changes from the outside world.
This series of works depict different kinds of plants and flowers. By conceiving the floral form in an abstract way, I try to convey my own life, my feelings and my current state of mind. This series not only is a record of my personal feelings but also a path for self-salvation. As there are many feelings in real life too complicated and nuanced to express verbally, I show my true self and my theory of aesthetics through my artworks. The process of creation allows me to release emotions and satisfy my mind. It meant a lot to me.
The “From the Depths of My Memory” series comprises five subseries: Red Spider Lily, Bergamot, Lily, Chrysanthemum and Night Reverie. By altering the shapes and patterns of the plants and by applying my artistic style, I am able to record my daily feelings.
