In order to meet the special work piece processing needs of the company's customers, the original lathe is modified to meet the customized cutting function of the work piece. The following four cutting tools can be used for the machining of work pieces: 1. Cutting machine: its shortcoming is manual operations and cutting piece loss. 2. Horizontal milling machine: it has automatic feed functions but it is expensive and costly. 3. Vertical grinding machine: it has automatic feed functions but its speed can not be adjusted and expensive 4. Lathe: it needs to be modified to manually clamp the cutting wheel and take the manpower In order to meet the cutting function of special machining parts, using the original lathe as part of the mechanism modification in this study. The automatic cutting target is achieved at the lowest cost and without burdening the operators. The proposed design contents include the design and installation of the work piece clamping, the design of the pneumatic system and integrated applications such as stepper drives, programmable controllers and human-machine interfaces, which have resulted in improved processing efficiency (from 1 to 2 processed products per minute), quality stability, user-friendliness and safety. In the future, if it is possible to set up functions such as automatic feeding and rejecting system, automatic sensing of tap impairment, processing quality detection and provision of remote monitoring, this machine will shorten the processing and the processing conditions will be monitored in real time, so as to achieve the goal of production automation
