本研究係依據歐盟執委會所發展之產品環境足跡方法，探討不鏽鋼高壓軟管進行環境足跡評估之必要原則與方法，以獲致環境足跡評估結果，並針對潛在之環境績效改善方向進行情境分析。本研究以位於桃園市平鎮區的一家軟管製造公司為主要個案，並選擇其所生產之不鏽鋼高壓軟管為標的產品進行環境足跡評估。本研究在系統邊界上是屬於搖籃到墳墓模式，其環境足跡量化應包含該產品生命週期之原料取得、製造、配送銷售、使用、廢棄處理等階段，分析單位 (即功能單位) 為「一條不鏽鋼高壓軟管」，其不鏽鋼管長度為一公尺。本研究結果顯示，正規化不鏽鋼高壓軟管環境足跡排名前三大之衝擊類別依序為人類毒性-非癌症效應 (HTNCE)、資源耗竭-礦物/化石燃料 (RDMF)、人類毒性-癌症效應 (HTCE)。綜合而言，針對正規化不鏽鋼高壓軟管環境足跡排名前三大之衝擊類別 (即HTNCE、RDMF、HTCE)，以原料取得階段之環境足跡占比最大，而原料取得階段中又以不鏽鋼材質原料的衝擊程度最大。針對不鏽鋼高壓軟管環境足跡評估結果，本研究另研擬了一個改善情境，其內容為將原料中之不鏽鋼接頭更換成銅接頭，此舉可將整體正規化不鏽鋼高壓軟管環境足跡降低57%。

In the study, the Product Environmental Footprint Methodology developed by EC was applied to investigate the required principles and methods for assessing the environmental footprint (EF) of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes. The EF of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes was obtained based on the above methodology. Then the scenario analysis was conducted to seek the potentials of environmental performance improvement. A real stainless steel high pressure flexible-tube plant located in Pingzhen District, Taoyuan City was examined as a case study and the stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes were used as the target product to assess the EF. The system boundary was cradle to grave, denoting that EF quantification must include the life cycle of the products from raw material acquisition through production, use, and end-of-life treatment. The unit of analysis (i.e., functional unit) is “a piece of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tube” with the stainless steel flexible-tube length of one meter. The results of the study indicate that the impact categories that their normalised EF of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes were ranked the top three were human toxicity-non-cancer effects (HTNCE), resource depletion-mineral, fossil (RDMF), and human toxicity-cancer effects (HTCE). Overall, for the three impact categories (i.e., HTNCE, RDMF, and HTCE), the ratios of the EF of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes in the raw material acquisition stage were bigger than those in the other stages, and stainless steel materials had the most impact in the raw material acquisition stage. Based on the results of the EF of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes (called base scenario), this study proposed an improvement scenario which assumed that the copper connectors were used to replace the stainless steel connectors. The results indicate that the EF of stainless steel high pressure flexible-tubes in the improvement scenario was reduced by 57% when compared with the EF in the base scenario.
