本篇論文旨在研究被動式Q開關雷射正交偏振與雷射縱向模態之間的關聯。首先，我們藉由應力導致晶體雙折射特性，觀察單片鍵合晶體Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG 被動式Q開關雷射中二個偏振的脈衝序列與光譜資訊。實驗結果顯示二個正交偏振的脈衝時序週期與雷射光譜中縱模比例成正相關並且呈現多縱模的雷射輸出。藉由縮短單片鍵合晶體的長度，我們成功建立了二個正交偏振各為單縱模的雷射輸出。而我們期待此實驗之結果未來可應用在精密量測與光通訊等領域。

The aim of this thesis is to study the relationship between orthogonal polarization and laser longitudinal modes in passively Q-switched (PQS) lasers. First, we change the crystal from isotropic into anisotropic by applying mechanical stress, and compare the temporal dynamics and spectrum in monolithic diffusion-bonded Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG PQS laser. Experimental results reveal that the period between two orthogonal polarizations in PQS laser is correlated with ratio of the lasing longitudinal mode numbers and we can realize multi-longitudinal-mode operation. We successfully established single longitudinal mode laser in each polarization by decreasing the length of Nd:YAG/Cr4+:YAG crystal. We expect the experimental finding can be applied in precision measurement and optical communication and so forth.
