This research examined how ownership structure influences diversification strategy within family business. By using fractional logit regression to analyze data from listed Taiwanese family firms on the period of 1995 to 2015, this study finds that when it comes to diversification, ownership structure has positive impacts on diversification strategy. It also finds that CEO duality and slack resources exiting have negatively moderate the effects of ownership structure on diversification decisions. This research enriches the body of knowledge in diversification, innovation, emerging and developing economics literature.
