在學術領域中,尋找關鍵人物或研究,以及其所附帶的合作研究關係等資訊,對於新的設計研究者來說,是十分有價值的。在SOFTlab與CAADRIA學會合作的機緣下,得以擁有龐大的WOCAD學術關聯式資料庫的研究資料,能夠來達成上述的系統實作。
本研究選擇使用本體作為知識探索的媒介,先將原始的WOCAD學術關聯式資料庫映射至WOCAD學術本體,並透過本體論視覺化,將WOCAD學術本體進行表現力上的增幅,透過可互動之本體論視覺化結果,以及本體支援語意推理功能,提升研究者查詢WOCAD學術本體時的效率,進而幫助他們順利進行研究與獲取知識。

In the academia, finding key people, researches, and the accompanying collaborative network is valuable for new design researchers. The opportunity for cooperation between SOFTlab and CAADRIA. There is a huge WOCAD academic relation database can implement the system.
This study decided to use ontology as the medium of knowledge exploration. First, using ontology mapping tool to covert the relational database into ontology form. And through ontology visualization, the WOCAD academic ontology increase in expressiveness. On the visualization results, as well as ontology support semantic inference function, improve the efficiency of researchers in querying WOCAD academic ontology and then help them to conduct research and acquire knowledge smoothly.
