傳統色塊風格馬賽克與相片馬賽克相關研究都已經行之有年,這些電腦產生的結果亦被廣泛地使用在許多地方。近年更衍伸出混合這兩種方式的混合型相片馬賽克,將照片的顯著區域跟非顯著區域採用不同表現力的拼貼方式,同時兼具兩者的優點,使得混合馬賽克在遠觀跟近觀皆能呈現不同的特色。然而,在相片拼貼的部分存在許多問題,包含被用來拼貼的圖磚可能因比例不同而被扭曲;在顯著區域跟非顯著區域的邊界位置,拼貼圖磚上的主要內容可能會被超級像素所覆蓋,此外,拼貼的圖片可能因為主體太小,使得拼貼上之後更難被觀察到主體。這些問題皆會使得相片馬賽克在近觀時的樂趣降低。因此本研究著眼於這幾個問題,提出改良式將主圖顯著區域切割以及拼貼用的圖磚預處理方法,使得拼貼結果時背景圖磚的顯著物件可以更明顯的被呈現出來,提高近距離觀察混合式馬賽克的樂趣。本研究成果詳實的比較原始混合式馬賽克的結果以及我們的結果,得出我們的結果有相當程度上的改進及呈現品質的結論。
Both of traditional color plate mosaic and photomosaic have been developed for many years and these computer-generated results also have been widely used. Recently, some researchers further develop the hybrid mosaic to combine two kinds of methods and take advantage of color and photomosaic. These kinds of hybrid methods use color mosaic on the salient region of the main image and use photomosaic to generate the background and the non-salient region of the main image. However, the original works of hybrid mosaic have several shortages on photo assembling part. For example, the tile image(photo) may be distorted because of the incompatible aspect ratio, the salient region of the tile image may be too small or partially covered by color plates which have been used in the border of the salient region of the main image. These shortages may decrease the pleasure of viewing these computer-generated results in the short distance. Therefore, this thesis focuses on resolving these tiles assembling issues and proposes an improved marching square method to segment the salient region of the main image and combine with a new preprocess stage to efficiently resolve to assemble issue which has been mentioned above. These improvements allow the salient region of the tile images could be enlarged and clearly integrated into the final mosaic result. It might improve the fun of close-up observation these generated images. The results of this study are compared with the original hybrid method, and the results show that we have a considerable degree of improvement in the quality of viewing.
