研究目的：旨在探討住院病童主要照顧者的照顧負荷與照顧需求，期能了解哪些背景因素影響主要照顧者的照顧需求，及照顧負荷與照顧需求之關係。
研究方法：採橫斷式相關性研究設計，以方便取樣收集南部某區域教學醫院兒科病房住院病童主要照顧者為研究對象，發出180份問卷回收167份有效問卷回收率為92.8%。使用基本資料、照顧者負荷量表及照顧者需求量表等進行資料收集。以t檢定、單因子變異數分析、皮爾森積差相關進行推論統計，並使用一般線性迴歸分析影響主要照顧者之照顧需求因子。
研究結果：顯示住院病童主要照顧者多數為母親(73.1%)，以呼吸道疾病病童居多(53.9%)，主要照顧者整體照顧負荷平均得分為19.68分（SD=20.87）得分最高的是生理負荷；整體照顧需求平均得分為70.9分（SD=16.79）得分最高的是疾病訊息需求。照顧負荷與照護需求呈現顯著正相關且照顧負荷可以預測照護需求，而病童疾病診斷、主要照顧者職業類別、家庭平均總月收入及照顧負荷可解釋53.7%之照護需求總變異量。
研究結論：住院病童主要照顧者有疾病資訊的需求，應提供相關資訊給主要照顧者，使其在照護過程中得到適當的滿足，提升兒童照顧的品質。

Objective: The goals of the study were to explore the care burden and the care needs of primary caregivers of hospitalized children. Also, to identify the factors that may affect the care needs of the caregiver, as well as the relationship between the care burden and care needs.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study. Convenience sampling was used to collecting the primary caregivers in the pediatric ward of a teaching hospital in the southern Taiwan. A total of 180 questionnaires were sent out and retrieved 167 valid questionnaires with an effective rate of 92.8%. All participators completed the questionnaire regarding basic information, caregiver burden scale and caregiver needs scale. Inferential statistics were analyzed by t-test, One-Way ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation; General linear regression was used to analyze the factors of influencing the care needs of the primary caregivers.
Results: Most of the primary caregivers of hospitalized children was mother (73.1%). Respiratory disease was the most common diagnosis (53.9%) of pediatric inpatients in the study. The average care burden of the primary caregiver was 19.68 points (SD=20.87). The highest score was the physiological burden. The overall care needs score was 70.9 points (SD=16.79) and the highest score was related to the disease information. There is a significantly positively correlation between the care burden and care needs and the care burden can predict care needs. The diagnosis, caregiver occupational, average household monthly income and care burden could be account for 53.7% of the total variance in care needs.
Conclusions: The primary caregiver of pediatric inpatients had the need for disease information. Adequate information should be provided to the primary caregivers, in order to satisfy the care need, thus improving the quality of pediatric care.
