Our plan is to launch a small business selling moving products on Amazon.com. We chose to sell on Amazon because we have past experience selling on the marketplace, it is the fastest way for us to reach our target customers, and it has low barriers of entry. We will be using Amazon’s FBA service, which outsources warehousing and customer service to Amazon. While FBA costs are significant, it still saves us time and money compared to renting a warehouse and providing logistics ourselves. This greatly reduces the capital investment, decreases the time to get our business running, and increases the likelihood we will be profitable. The first product we are selling is a mini stretch wrap with plastic handle. The stretch wrap is used to bundle and protect items together such as boxes, wires, and other loose items while moving. We created a 90-day plan to start selling our product on Amazon. We started with research to determine the best market strategy. We determined that by offering a better handle, slightly lower price, and better marketing we would be able to convince customers on Amazon to purchase our product. For our line of moving products we created the brand name PackU. Our mission is to make moving, easier, faster, and more affordable for our customers. We are ordering our product from Dongguan Yongsheng Packing Products Co. Ltd based in Guangdong China. They will manufacture the product, apply our logo, and ship the product directly to Amazon’s warehouse. While we are waiting for our product to be sent to Amazon, we will focus on creating an optimized listing with good product descriptions and photos. As soon as our product arrives at Amazon we will be able to start selling our product. During the first few months we will be focusing on running Amazon sponsored ads to generate sales for our product. We will also be following up with customers to ensure that they are satisfied with our product and resolve any issues that they may have. Plus, we will also be making adjustments to our business strategy based on the data and customer feedback that we receive. We will use our experience from the first product to create an improved strategy for our second product. We feel quite confident that within 1-2 years we will have created a profitable and sustainable Amazon business.
