This thesis is based on the author's self-perspective from the postgraduate period. Drawing out the graduation production from undergraduate by using the Eastern Gouache as the main medium, and directly presenting the memories of scenery they have tasted during the postgraduate period.
To reach a deeper understanding of the author themselves, the environment, and the relationship with people in the process of creating. The thesis surrounds the title with the topic - “The Memory about Tasting", and divided into 5 chapters to analyze the author's thinking process at different phases.
The first chapter explains the motivation of creation, the aim of the research, literature review and the explanation of "taste bud" and “memory."
The second section of the chapter explores artists that shared similar themes of the works, who gave the author the impact, including René François Ghislain Magritte (1898-1967) ,Vanessa Cooper and Gustav Klimt(1862-1918). The commonality lies in the works discussed. These subjects are centered on the observation of daily life, surreal situations and Art Decoratifs, helping the author to clarify the connection between theory and creation.
The third chapter explains the author's creative ideas and practice.
The fourth chapter is the rendering of individual works, which is split up into three series: (1) Taste Diary, (2) The imagination of taste bud, (3) Kidera. The author dives into the journey of analyzing the meaning and expression of each work separately, therefore to thoroughly understand their self creative-activity.
Lastly, the fifth chapter is the conclusion of the research thesis, examining its creative purpose and future prospects.
