The economy of Macao is connected with the world economy. Since the 1960s, the Macao textile and garment industry focused mainly on manufacturing and exporting, following the slow down of the global economic growth, garment manufacturing has become the future and transformative development of the Macao fashion industry. In 2010, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government set out projects to be committed to promoting the development of the cultural and creative industries. Focusing on eight major industries as the pilot experimentations, in order to build a diverse economy system. The fashion industry, regarded as an extremely important part of the cultural and creative industry, has been promoted greatly. Being in line with the policy of the SAR Government, a number of private institutions have emerged to promote Macao's fashion industry, with the goal of supporting and nurturing local cultural businesses and creatives, cultivating potential projects and creative ideas. By providing venues and hosting related exhibitions and events; Providing studio spaces, fashion production services and helping brands to host launching events, these institutions have built creative showcase platforms for Macau fashion designers and creatives. However, as the fashion industry in Macao have been undermined by the low-cost fast fashion production in some of the factories in Eastern Europe and America, it has seriously affected the development of the fashion industry in Macau. At the same time, this issue has become the main concern subject in this study. Therefore, the researcher intends to put forward suggestions through combing references from both literature and interviews, in order to revitalize the garment industry in Macao. The purpose of this study is to have a deeper understanding of the Macao fashion industry, and through various research practice, to raise the standard of Macao's fashion design in a global fashion platform; To help Macao's fashion designer to build a sustainable and independent industrialized business, ultimately to reach a diverse economy system. The main research object independent Macau fashion designers, the research method is consisted of interviews and selects the semi-structure interview method, and then supplemented with relevant literature references for analysis, comparison and induction. In conclusion, in order to promote the development of the fashion industry in Macao and further research in the future, the following five suggestions are proposed: Providing more showcasing platforms for independent designers and businesses; Continuing financial and consultation support for designers and businesses; Increasing opportunities for participating in global exhibitions and showrooms; Strengthening the educations to cultivate professionals; And lastly, assisting in designer-quality small garment productions.
