臺灣博碩士論文加值系統

隨著展示技術與手法、科學研究的不斷更新，恐龍展示已從最初19世紀單純的靜態化石展示，演變為能夠應用各種展示方式、結合多元觀點的展示主題，並藉由流行文化的推廣走入社會，持續吸引大眾，成為自然史博物館中最具代表性與展示效果的主題之一。本研究以文獻研究、個案研究與質性訪談作為研究方法，透過文獻蒐集與實地訪查的方式蒐集國內外自然史博物館之恐龍展示資料，探討自然史博物館中恐龍展示發展與展示脈絡。國內之研究個案包含：國立自然科學博物館「恐龍廳」、國立台灣博物館古生物館「生命的史詩—與演化共舞」、台南左鎮化石園區「恐龍時代」。

本研究結果顯示自然史博物館中的恐龍展示與自然史博物館本身之發展密不可分。一般而言，自然史博物館中的恐龍展示具有下列四特色：
(1)利用具吸引力之大型恐龍展件強調感官經驗；
(2)以科學研究與實證發現作為展示基礎，持續更新與修正；
(3)在展示的同時進行公眾教育，如生態保育等；
(4)展示內容以呈現知識性與娛樂性並重。

本研究並發現，國內之研究個案具有以下四類常見展示型態，並且均具備兩個特點。常見之展示型態包含：
(1)化石展示；(2)模型展示；(3)展板解說；(4)多媒體互動裝置；
國內之研究個案雖然展示空間與化石較為缺乏，藉由上述之展示型態仍能呈現適當且豐富的展示效果。例如，案例多以靜態的化石展示、展板解說呈現並說明恐龍的基礎知識，並搭配動態的模型展示與多媒體互動裝置吸引觀眾注意力。
案例在展示上具備的兩個特點包括：
(1)將恐龍展示與生命演化史、台灣相關生物與環境脈絡連結；
(2)著重恐龍的演化與分類方式，並呈現弱肉強食之形象。
國內之研究個案藉由上述之展示面向連結恐龍與台灣、地球環境與生命演化知識的關係，打造具多元觀點的展示。

此外，本研究國、內外研究個案中之展示脈絡皆具有下列兩個共同點：
(1)利用中央展示加強觀眾印象，以多種展示方式塑造恐龍形象
(2)皆利用恐龍相關知識說明科學研究之發展並強調環境議題。
除上述共同點外，展示內容與脈絡的編排則因空間與展品數而各自不同。

本研究建議自然史博物館與恐龍展示可在發展中互相參照，如自然史博物館之熱門展示議題可提供恐龍展示可連結之內容、恐龍展示與議題的連結則能啟發自然史博物館對議題展示的新觀點與論述方式。另針對本研究之國內研究個案，本研究建議能彈性地將恐龍展示與館所之主題、各式議題相結合，並利用多元展示手法呈現恐龍形象，跳脫傳統展示框架、構思具有特色的展示脈絡。

With the ever-changing development of display technology, display techniques and scientific research, dinosaur exhibitions have evolved from simple fossil displays to an exhibition theme that adapts versatile methods and combines diverse viewpoints. Moreover, dinosaur exhibitions have also, through the influence of popular culture, continuously attracted the public and become one of the most iconic themes with display spectacles in natural history museums. By employing literature analysis, case study and in-depth interview as the research method, this research collects materials from dinosaur exhibitions in natural history museums in Taiwan and abroad, and discusses their developments and contexts. Case studies of in Taiwan include dinosaur exhibitions in the National Museum of Natural Science, National Taiwan Museum Land Bank Exhibition Hall, and Tainan City Zoujhen Fossil Park.

The result of this research shows that dinosaur exhibitions in natural history museums are in close links to the development of the museums that house the exhibits themselves. Dinosaur exhibitions in natural history museums generally possess the following four characteristics:
(1) Using attractive and extensive dinosaur objects to emphasize sensory experiences.
(2) Based on scientific research and empirical findings, the exhibitions are continuously updated and revised.
(3) Promoting public education with their display, such as environmental preservation.
(4) Giving equal weights to education and entertainment.

This research also found the cases of Taiwan have four types of display in common and two features. Common types of display include:
(1) fossil display
(2) model display
(3) panel texts
(4) multimedia interactive devices
The cases of Taiwan show that, despite lacking in display spaces and fossils, by using the display types mentioned above, the dinosaur exhibitions manage to present appropriate and rich display effects. Such as static fossil displays and panel texts that present and tell the basic knowledge of dinosaurs with dynamic models and multimedia interactive devices to attract audiences’ attention.

The two display features shown in the case studies are:
(1) Link dinosaur exhibitions to the evolution of life in general, the animals and environment of Taiwan in particular.
(2) Focus on the evolution and classification of dinosaurs and convey the message of “survival of the fittest.”
Following elements mentioned above, the case studies of Taiwan set out to create multi-perspective exhibitions, connecting and build relationships between dinosaur and Taiwan, earth science and evolution.

In addition, the case of Taiwan and the case from abroad both carry the following two aspects in their context of display:
(1) Use centerpieces to strengthen audiences’ impression and to build dinosaur images with versatile display methods.
(2) Use dinosaur-related knowledge to explain the development of scientific research and emphasize environmental issues.
Apart from the two common aspects, the displayed content and contexts of the layout are each different due to spaces and numbers of objects.

This research suggests that natural history museums and dinosaur exhibitions can learn from each other in exhibition display. For example, popular topics in natural history museums provide an additional content to link to the dinosaur display, and the link, going forward, offer inspiration to natural history museums on ways of generating new perspectives and making discourses. Furthermore, based on the case studies of Taiwan, the research suggests museums can combine their dinosaur exhibitions with various themes and issues that museums themselves are concerned with. Also, museums can break away with the traditional framework, in order to construct and present dinosaur exhibitions through unique contexts and multiple perspectives.
