這項研究的目的是研究台灣民宿業的創業導向和外部環境對經營成效的影響。 創業取向的四個維度:創新性,冒險精神,積極性和競爭積極性,以及兩個外部環境變量:活力和敵意,採用量化方法進行衡量。六種分析方法用於調查所有變量之間的關係。描述性統計數據表明,創新性和積極性是重要的創業取向維度,活力和敵意都很高。相關分析表明,活力與所有其他變量具有正相關,而敵意只與活力成正相關。回歸分析表明,積極性與經營成效有著顯著的正相關關係。人口統計數據顯示,年紀輕、較高學歷,或經營五年內的民宿經營者表現出色。此外,有相關背景及高學歷的民宿業者在創業傾向的表現較優。這些發現有助於民宿經營者檢視自身的創業傾向和外部環境,並討論如何培養及利用創業傾向在民宿業中達到良好的經營成效。
The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of entrepreneurial orientation and external environment on business performance in the bed and breakfast industry in Taiwan. Four dimensions of EO: innovativeness, risk taking, proactiveness, and competitive aggressiveness, and two external environmental variables: dynamism and hostility, are measured with a quantitative approach. Six analysis methods are used to investigate the relationships between all variables. Descriptive statistics reveal that innovativeness and proactiveness are significant EO dimensions and dynamism and hostility are both high. Correlation analysis shows that dynamism has a positive correlation with all other variables, but hostility is positively related to dynamism only. Regression analysis indicates that proactiveness has a significantly positive relationship with business performance. The demographics point out that the B&B operators who have a young age or high educational level and operate B&Bs within 5 years have high business performance. In addition, the related background and high educational level will enhance the B&B owner’s EO. The findings contribute for the B&B operators to examine their entrepreneurial orientation and external environment, and to discuss how to develop and utilize EO to achieve high business performance.
