Automobile industry classified as one of the main player in manufacturing sector that support the global economic growth. However this industry is also one of the industry that creating harm to the environment. This reason makes some companies conduct CSR activities to diminishing the possibility of getting financial distress. Based on that fact, we aim to inquire whether CSR have effects to financial distress level in automobile industry. The results shown that CSR are significantly lessen the financial distress positively in automobile industry. Moreover, this study also found that environmental score has positive affect in reducing the distress possibility in both Asian countries and Non-Asian countries.
