Abstract The Japanese classical aesthetic "Wabi-Sabi" can be regarded as having a long history and is becoming more and more widely known; but there are not many literatures or books about Wabi-Sabi as yet. We can indeed have a certain understanding of Wabi-Sabi from limited related books, but because of its philosophical abstraction, even if we say some features of Wabi-Sabi, like "Simple", "Ancient", "Withered", "Old", "Imperfect", or" Incomplete ", etc, it still seems unable to describe it accurately. However, if describing some ways of Wabi-Sabi’s "expression" on things and utensils, it can make people understand more than just listening to the verbal description. For example, we can roughly understand Wabi-Sabi’s spirit, core idea, and Wabi-Sabi’s aesthetic feeling expression on utensils through the contribution and change in the tea ceremony, tea room, and tea utensils of "Japanese Tea Sage" Sen no Rikyu. And now, People who love Wabi-Sabi are not only just in Japan, Taiwan and other eastern culture, but also in Western culture countries. Moreover, there are product design and works of art which are also created with the concept of Wabi-Sabi. And how will the Wabi-Sabi be interpreted today is the main direction of this thesis research for; the research objects are in three fields: the space field-some of the architectures designed by Ando, the design field- the design of MUJI, and the art field- the Japanese art genre "Mono-ha". And also, they will be taken as the main research examples. By these three examples, which are also internationally well-known today, we can understand the way of interpretation of Wabi-Sabi in modern times.
