By searching for the performance of functionality and usability throughout the history of ceramic craftsmanship, the author reflects on the self-experience and course of learning ceramic art. During the research, through the development of bronze culture, the transformation of vessels, and the evolution of the ritual utensil system which assist in exploring the expression of bronze imagery, and three ways of presentations for vessels were constructed through the accumulation of experience. As a result, three series of artworks were born: ”Experience of Vessels”, ”Emotion of utensils”, ”Social Interpretation ” as the methods to rethink about narrative vessels.
In the artwork, the molding techniques have been used to investigate how bronze casting affects the outcome of shapes and testing the glaze firing as the imitation for bronze texture, in addition to transforming the traditional bronze style into self-modeling style vessels. In the form of expression, the course of usage for vessels is regarded as a narrative method, furthermore, the shape and functionality are regarded as a method of communication between the utensil and the user, at long last, the viewer’s perception of society is recorded through the pattern of ritual vessel.
Through the conversion of viewpoint, the author develops different creative ideas, in addition, fulfill in serial collections to construct the expression methods and emotional expressions of the utensils. During this process of communicates with each other through the vessels as the carrier of messages. However, positive communication should accurately deliver messages. This concept is the research direction of this thesis and the record for the narrative vessel. Exploring the performance of narrative vessels throughout the ceramic material for improving the ability to express experience, culture, and emotions, as the research of this research.
