The study of "Island of Light" conveys the author's series of works in his hometown of Matsu; from the changes in sunlight, moonlight, biological shimmer, to life's exit, and the appearance of religious aura. Feelings and thoughts of hometown and loved ones are the materials of the author's creation. The author explores the familiar and intuition of the island, light and shadow creation, the theme of the Eastern and Western artists, and their concepts and expressions of related themes. Thence, in his creations, the author uses subjects and era to express his visual images. The content of the essay includes five chapters. Chapter one, Introduction, explains the motivation, purpose, methods and structure of the research. The second chapter discusses the literature, including natural light, Painting light, technological light, the representative artists, and islands’“Yinyingun”(Matsu’s common Mindong language, to describe an object shining and smooth, hanging on the way.). Chapter three, Mind of theory creation, practice and confirmation: strengthen the theme by the beauty of components, express Matsu’s characteristics; simplify the background, highlight the theme sentiment; construct island aesthetics and other principles to find colors that are distinctive to the island; using two dimensions painting, texture and composite media materials, such as the experience, practice in the works of creation.Chapter four, Analysis creation series of works, dividing the works into three series: "Light of rock", "Light of life", and "Light of good time". “Light of rock” presents the nature color of Matsu. The “Light of live” is the color of humanities or life scenes; and “Light of good time” is the scene in the memories of food, time, and festivities; or modeling the symbol and colorization.Chapter five, Conclusion, self-reflection of creation: 8000 years ago, Liangdao people lived on the island, they used computer tools to find the colors of island and transform the two dimensions painting into personal characteristics. Granite texture describes connotation of the island. The application of composite media to express the diverse island characteristics; and found that island Yingguang as a source for creation. Future direction development: deep into the roots of cultural connotation of the island, exploring the existing aestheticism and dedicate to the Island of Art.
