The main purpose of this study was to explore the meanings of marriage on same-sex female couples, as well as the conflict interactions between married same-sex female couples and their family members/society in the early stage of same-sex marriage legalization in Taiwan.
The study recruited two same-sex female couples that had registered their marriage at different household registration offices to conduct a dual interview by the method of open recruitment and snowballing. The interview was conducted with semi-structured interview. The analysis was based on Hycner's phenomenology content analysis (1985). The results were:

1. The meanings of marriage on same-sex female couples were as follows:
The legalization of same-sex marriage allows same-sex couples access to legal rights and social benefits, protect the rights of couples who live together permanently.
The legalization of same-sex marriage promotes justification and commitment in same-sex couples, and these couples were released from feeling guilty towards their family members.

2. The interactions and confrontations between married same-sex female couples and their family members/society were as follows:
By witnessing the process of the same-sex marriage allows the couples’ family members to be less concern about the negative assumptions and stigmatization from the society.
By presenting themselves as married couples in their daily living environment also creates opportunities for more interaction and dialogue with the society.
The role of married same-sex female couple was often subtly ignored in the family: The family members were likely to regard considered them as besties instead of married couples, which was often subtly forgotten.
Same-sex female couples were often invisible to the dominant heterosexual groups. In spite of the legalization of same-sex marriage, the same-sex female couples’ interaction with their domestic family members still followed the traditional norms. The model of the same-sex female marriage in-laws and the new morality of it were still in the early stage of development.
The right to marry was the initiation and base of an equal dialogue between the LGBT+ communities and the public.

Also, the researcher made some findings and conclusion for the following research and for the associated professionals in the hope to make this study more contributive.
