本研究是以2000至2016年期間中國上海證券交易所與深圳證券交易所上市的家族企業為研究樣本,討外來的管理者是否會影響公司的創新。研究發現外來CEO會使企業的研發投入增加,但會使企業的專利產出變低。而在後續的穩健性檢驗中,透過DiD(Difference in Difference)的方法,包含加入duality,區分外來CEO和外來董事長是否為同一個人,以及加入政府持股,均發現有相同的結果驗證此推論。另外,企業的管理者也包含董事長,因此本研究在後續的考量改採外來董事長,研究發現與外來CEO的結果一致,亦驗證此推論證明外來管理者會對企業的創新產生影響。

This uses listed family firms in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2000 to 2016 to investigate whether external managers will affect the innovation of the company. The study found that foreign CEOs would increase the R&D investment of enterprises, but reduce the patent output of enterprises. In the subsequent robustness test, the same result was found through the method of DiD (Difference in Difference) to verify this inference. Contains join duality, distinguish between foreign CEO and foreign chairman of the board of directors is the same person, and to join the government holding. In addition, the manager of an enterprise also includes the chairman of the board of directors, so this study adopts the chairman of the board of directors in the subsequent consideration. The research findings are consistent with the results of the external CEO, which also verifies that this inference proves that the external manager will have an impact on the innovation of the enterprise.
