In order to solve the problem of declining birthrate and provide a friendly environment for childcare, this article investigates the children's reading room of the Taichung Municipal Library to understand the status of friendly facilities and equipment in the children's reading room by taking photos and sorting out relevant forms as the basis of a friendly environment index (FI).
Relevant factors of friendly facilities and equipment are summarized and referenced to screen unnecessary factors and classified into 2 levels with a total of 6 major factors (a total of 4 regulatory-friendly facilities and equipment, and a total of 2 indoor landscape-friendly facilities and equipment). At the level of building regulations, various factors are determined based on barrier-free facilities and equipment, nursing (set) breast rooms, parent-child toilets, parent-child parking spaces, and other building-friendly facilities and equipment. For the indoor landscape, refer to the IFLA "Children's Library Service Guide" and my country's public library building equipment (CNS13612) to sub-order color, service desk location, independent space, children's furniture, friendly signs, children's bookshelves, safety protection, good ventilation, and others Friendly facilities and equipment factors and indoor landscape.
A total of 42 branches were evaluated and graded based on the FI value of the friendliness factor, including 10/42 branches for gold, 12/42 branches for silver, 10/42 branches for passing, and 10/42 branches for unqualified branches. The installation rate of various laws and regulations-friendly facilities is 89.5% with the highest rate of barrier-free facilities and equipment (only 69.0% of barrier-free parking spaces are set up in some branches due to the limited construction area); the lowest is only 16.7% for parent-child parking spaces. Only 38.1% of the indoor landscape-friendly facilities are set up.
