This study examined the status of international human resource management research published over the last decade, using citation data from Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) for the top international human resource management journal: The International Journal of Human Resource Management. By analyzing 124,631 citations of 1,743 articles published in SSCI journal in international human resource management area between 2010 and 2019. The results suggest that contemporary international human resource management research is organized in five different concentrations of interest: HRM-performance, perceived organizational support, institutional theory, job demands-resources model, and HR attributions theory. Future international human resource management studies will probably continue to center on these topics. The results help to profile the invisible network of knowledge production in international human resource management and provide important insights and implications on current and future research directions of international human resource management studies for management scholars and practitioners.
