The purpose of this research is to explore how personality traits affect the entrepreneurial willingness of college students who are about to graduate in Taiwan. In recent years, the entrepreneurial wave in Taiwan has risen, and more and more people have the willingness to start a business and have taken action. However, although previous studies have pointed out the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, and what kind of characteristics they have are more likely to encourage people with entrepreneurial aspirations to succeed, but the research objects are mostly limited to industry professionals. Little is known about the entrepreneurial willingness of college students after graduation. At the same time, few studies have explored the impact of personality traits on entrepreneurial willingness through social networks and resource acquisition. This research solved the above problems and proposes a framework that empirically examines the path-dependent effects of personality traits, emotional quotient, social network, trust building, resource acquisition, and entrepreneurial willingness of college students.
The data of this study were based on paper questionnaires and anonymous questionnaires. The main research objects were students from colleges and universities about to graduate in Taiwan. Quantitative research methods were used. The questionnaires were mainly composed of personality traits, emotional quotient, social network, trust building, resource acquisition, and entrepreneurial willingness. It consisted of six major components. A total of 213 valid questionnaires were collected. Used SPSS 26 to perform empirical analysis using methods such as Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), regression analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis, and used AMOS 24, and SEM structural equation analysis to measure the influence of personality traits on entrepreneurial willingness.
According to the empirical results of this study, each hypothesis is valid. Except for the neuroticism in personality traits that negatively affect emotional quotient, the other four personality traits all positively affect emotional quotient, which in turn positively affects social network, trust building, resource acquisition, and entrepreneurial willingness, so as to know the entrepreneurial willingness of college students who are about to graduate in Taiwan.
Finally, in this research, it also explains the research limitations of this research and suggestions for future research directions for future researchers to conduct more comprehensive research.
