This research "The Concept, Motives, and Possibilities of Counter-terrorism and Violent Extremism from the Perspective of Hashemite University Students" is conducted in order to inform the readers about the concept, motives, and
possibilities of counterterrorism and violent extremism from the perspective of the younger generation of Hashemite University in Jordan. The author used descriptive and analytical approach in this study, in which the study population consisted of all students in Human Sciences Faculties for the academic year 2020. A total of 348 samples were randomly drawn. SPSS was used to obtain arithmetic mean and standard deviations and perform the descriptive statistical analysis. Analysis of variance ANOVA and Pearson's correlation coefficient were also used to answer the research questions. Since the study reached several conclusions, the most important of them are:
Overall, the study sample responses on the concept of terrorism and violent
extremism at the whole level were high. It indicates the majority of the respondents supported all concepts and terms related to terrorism and violent extremism.
The respondents confirmed that terrorism and violent extremism are acts that
against social morals that may not achieve a purpose or goal, and this is evident through the answers to question 12, "Terrorism is an action that violates social morals," is high with arithmetic mean 4.70. It came first among the other questions in the questionnaire.
The responses for terrorism and violent extremism's motives were high. It indicates that most of the respondents supported all the motives related to terrorism and violent extremism and what could lead to them. Which in turn, indicates that the respondents rejected everything that might cause terrorism and violent extremism.
The responses to the ways to counter-terrorism and violent extremism were high, with arithmetic mean 4.28, showing that most of the respondents support all methods that lead to countering terrorism and violent extremism.
