In this research, the author uses a series of flower paintings to express the richness and visual sensuality of colors and lines. From traditional free hand painting to modern meticulous painting techniques, through watercolor, Chinese painting and natural mineral pigments, you will be able to enjoy a fun experimentation of colors. In Floral Journey, the author expresses psychological experiences and the moving of heart and soul through everyday flowers and herbs. This dissertation is the literary discussion of the author's original creation. This dissertation is structured as follows: Chapter 1: Exploring the creative concepts of modern flower & birds artwork through philosophical principles. Using shape refining to establish a creative style. Chapter 2: Studying the Chinese flower and bird painting from the Song Dynasty to the beginning of the Republic of China, including the Maritime School. Understanding the schools of arts' influence on the creative style of freehand painter Du Deng Yin and Meticulous painter Yu Fei An, both deeply influenced the author's style. Chapter 3: The author's creative concept comes from "intentional sentiment", stressing the idea of writing and thinking in images, gaining inspiration through the copying of Song paintings and poetry. Chapter 4: Creative Practice and Explanation. Discussing the creative concept and creation process of 20 pieces of work. Chapter 5: Conclusion: Experiencing the academic framework and discourse of the Maritime School through the exploration of research motivation and research purpose. Contrasting classical solar terms with the time layers in “Floral Journey”. Attesting the thesis “creation is not the end, but rather the begin” through creative practices.
