In today's information-developed era, the scope of our life is becoming more and more extensive, and many habits that are not good for health have also developed over a long period of time, such as staying up all night, causing day and night to be reversed, or socializing...etc., and then liver problems comes out. Taiwan which has the title of the fruit kingdom, has produced Citrus depressa Hayata, also known as flat lemon, it is a citrus fruit, both the peel and the pulp are rich in nutrients, among the peels are Nobiletin and Tangeretin. It has the highest content, and current studies had confirmed that this fruit was helpful for anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, lowering blood pressure, lowering high blood lipids, lowering high cholesterol... and so on.
This study investigated the protective effect of Citrus depressa Hayata peel extract on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in mice induced by high-fat diet. The experiment lasted for 18 weeks and was divided into six groups. They were the control group (Control), the high-fat diet group (HFD),the high-fat diet combined with the low-dose group of Citrus depressa Hayata peel extract (HFD + CDEEL_L), the high-fat diet combined with the high-dose group of Citrus depressa Hayata peel extract (HFD + CDEEL_H), high-fat diet combined with Nobiletin of Citrus depressa Hayata peel extract (HFD + Nob), and high-fat diet combined with Tangeretin of Citrus depressa Hayata peel extract (HFD + Tan), and then compared the above six groups. After sacrificing at week 18, the mice were measured to cardiac blood measurements, including ALanine aminoTransferase (ALT), ASpartate aminoTransferase (AST), Triglyceride (TG), totalcholesterol (TC), body fat ratio, epididymal fat and perirenal fat, statistical analysis was based on the above data. In this experiment, R and SPSS statistical software were used for data analysis, and one-way ANOVA and nonparametric statistics were used as the main analysis methods.
