司法院於107年12月21日啟用「量刑趨勢建議系統」，本研究參考量刑趨勢建議系統內的量刑因子並使用民國108年度全台灣各地方法院關於槍砲彈藥刀械管制條例的所有一審判決資料，估計除了案件事實外，法官性別、性別比例及地區對於量刑的影響。實證結果顯示法官的性別及地區對於量刑有顯著的影響，平均來說男性法官宣判的有期徒刑長度比女性法官多1.3個月，而管轄權位於直轄市的地方法院宣判的有期徒刑長度比不在直轄市的地方法院少1.4個月。

The Judicial Yuan developed the "Sentencing Trend Recommendation System" on December 21, 2018. This paper refers to the sentencing factors in the system and uses all the district court judgments regarding the violation of Controlling Guns, Ammunition and Knives Act in 2019 in order to evaluate whether sentencing is influenced by, other than the facts of the case, the judge gender, gender ratio and region. The results show that judge gender and region have a significant impact on sentencing. On average, the length of sentence of imprisonment made by male judges is 1.3 months longer than that made by female judges. The length of sentence of imprisonment made by district courts whose jurisdiction is in a municipality is 1.4 months shorter than those not in a municipality.
