The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy認證之伴侶治療錄音/影。 研究者運用EFT Tango Coding Scheme、Emotionally Focused Therapy Coding Scheme、The Vocal Mandarin Quality Scheme、The client experiencing scales為資料分析工具。
This study aims to explore the EFT Tango Moves, skills, vocal qualities used by EFT therapists, clients’ emotional experience level in EFT changing interactional positions, and to investigate the correlation of the 4 variables in this study. 7 recordings or videos certified by The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy, including 4 blamer softening events and 3 withdrawer re-engagement events, are used in this study. The data collected is then analyzed with EFT Tango Coding Scheme, Emotionally Focused Therapy Coding Scheme, Vocal Mandarin Quality Scheme, and Client Experiencing Scales. The method of statistics are descriptive statistics, Chi-Square Test for Homogeneity of Proportions, Post hoc comparisons, and log-linear sequential analysis. We have found that EFT therapists perform the EFT Tango moves in order during EFT changing interactional positions, and tend to stay longer in EFT Tango move 3 and EFT Tango move 4. An EFT Tango move can be repeated to help maintaining the couple involved in their emotions.
Moreover, this study shows that an interaction exists between EFT Tango moves, skills, and clients’ emotional experience. The skills frequently used by a therapist change according to the EFT Tango move, especially Enactment with affirmative and instructive voice in Tango move 3, and Heightening Present and Changing Positions with softened and kind voice in Tango moves 4, 5. Clients’ emotional experience level goes up as the therapist progress through EFT Tango moves. Therapists' vocal qualities, however, have interaction with EFT Tango moves and skills, but have no direct correlation with clients’ emotional experience.
