This thesis was based on the creative theme of “Bitter and Colorful Fantasy World,” which started with the fear of death and the transformation of negative emotions, and then began a journey of self-healing. The author's inner world is presented in different forms, symbols, colors, etc. through the creation of paintings, and the originally imperceptible inner mind is presented in a symbolic way. The author also explored the symbolic meaning of the visual vocabulary in the paintings. In revealing the inner world of self-healing, the author created her own painting vocabulary. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter outlines the objective of the research and the direction of creation in terms of motivation, content, and scope of research. In the second chapter, the academic theory is explored to shape bitter aesthetics with emotional sublimation and utopian healing, and to compare the philosophy and aesthetics of death in both Chinese and Western countries, as well as the visual psychology and symbolic expression of color, which are used as the basis of this research topic. The third chapter is an extension of the theological foundation and an analysis of the practice of self-creation. It describes the creative thinking and visual context of the “Bitter and Colorful Fantasy World” and also discusses and analyzes the personal painting vocabulary that is created by the "simplified" picture, space, and composition. Individual works are divided into three series in the fourth chapter, and through the images and creative thinking and the textual narrative of the process echoing each other, the emotions and thoughts that the different series want to express are presented. The final chapter presents the results of the entire creative research, a review, and a vision and reflection for future creation.
